In value terms, crane imports shrunk significantly to $X in 2020. Overall, imports contracted sharply. The most significant growth rate occurred in 2017, with an X% year-on-year increase. Imports peaked at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, import figures were slightly lower.

Malta (X units), Turkey (X units) and Tunisia (X units) were the main suppliers of imported cranes to Libya, together accounting for X% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2020, among the major suppliers, Tunisia achieved the most significant growth rate in procurement, while other leaders saw a more moderate increase in imports.

Malta (USD X) is the largest crane supplier to Libya by value, accounting for X% of total imports. In second place is Germany ($X) with X% of total imports. It is followed by Turkey with an X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, Malta has experienced an average annual value growth rate of +X%. The average annual growth rates of imports for the remaining suppliers are as follows: Germany (+X% per annum) and Turkey (+X% per annum).

Malta ($926,000) was Libya’s largest supplier of cranes by value, accounting for 46% of total imports. In second place was Germany ($233,000), which accounted for 12% of total imports. It is followed by Turkey with a share of 6.8%.

The largest crane markets by value from Libya were the Netherlands ($99,000), Belgium ($70,000) and Spain ($48,000), which together accounted for 97% of total exports.

In 2020, the average export price of cranes was USD 19,861 per unit, a decrease of -17.4% from the previous year.

The average import price of cranes in 2020 was US$55,812 per unit, up 16% from the previous year.
